The Next Step beyond the X-Prize.

NASA is setting up a whole set of new prizes. Like the X-Prize, the idea is to spur on competition in areas of space exploration. If you have any ideas on a needed area of exploration, check out the NASA website and submit your idea. I think it is a great idea because private firms not government is the future of space travel.

Iraq to pay off debt by issuing bonds.

The Iraqis will issue up to 2 billion dollars worth of bonds to pay off their debts. That with the every increasing income from oil. I think makes Iraqi Dinars a good investment.

What is String Theory?

String Theory or the Theory of Everything. Understanding String Theory, quantum theory and the Theory of Relativity will help in understanding the possible of a working hyperdrive. If you can read the book The Elegant Universe by Brain Greene or watch the nova show by the same name you should. Brain Greene is one of the leaders in the field of String Theory.

A Working Hyperdrive in 5 years!!

The hyperdrive is based on the theories of Burkhard Heim. You create a magnetic field around a spaceship. The spaceships moves into another dimension where faster than light travel is possible. When you reach your destination you turn off the field and return to normal space. The American Institute of Aeronautics gave a award to a paper based upon this theory in 2004. One of the scientist Jochem Hauser said that a working engine could be tested in 5 years. Here is a link to a forum of people who discount the idea.

Doctor Who on the SCI-FI Channel

The Sci-Fi channel is the perfect place to air the new Doctor Who series. The 13 episode first season will start in March and will take Atlantis's friday time slot. It is a flash to the past for me because Doctor Who was one of the first sci-fi shows that I watched as a kid.

Belief in Echelon, Belief in Able Danger

If you believe in Echelon then you should believe in the existence of Able danger. Data mining is used by most companies to track customer buying habits. Able danger uses data collected by Echelon. The question is why this information was not given to the FBI! I hope that congress gets off it's butt and investigates this failure! Check out this Able danger timeline!

Echelon fact or fiction.

The NSA has a global spy system called Echelon. I think that the know how and hardware is there for it. The only question is money. The question I have is why is congress upset with Bush over NSA wire-tap's. Most members of congress should know about Echelon and that It has been around since 1945. I think that if you believe in Echelon then the cries against NSA wire-tapping is just politics. I think that Echelon is a fact and that it is a well known secret in Washington!
