(2) A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

(3) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Robofie VS-1 and Option Cawl look awesome!

Check out the Robofie web site. The pictures and videos look awesome. I not sure of the price or the specs because it is in Japanese. The Option Cawl looks cool too. They are both around 1,500 yen.

Matt Bauer is doing some awesome things with the robonova-1

Matt Bauer website is a most for robonova-1 owners and all robo-one fans! You got to check out all the upgrades and hacks he was done with the robonova. His robonova has hands and can climb ropes!

You can play with Robonova-1 at work.

All you need is a cell phone and upgrade kit form NTT DoCoMo. The robonova gets a digital camera and transmitter. You then can control the robot through a cell phone while using the digital camera to see where it is going. Great idea, hopefully someone in the US will sell the same upgrade for the robonova-1.

I wish that Christopher Eccleston had not quit Dr Who

I wonder why he quit? The more episodes that I watch the more he grows on me. I hope the new Doctor is as good. Eccleston had a edginess to him that made the character work.

Pleo evolves into a Robo-One Platform?

One 16 bit, seven 8 bit cpus. You can update the OS called "LifeOS" with SD memory cards or USB connected to a computer that is connected to the internet. It has 50 algorithms to simulate emotions and hormones. 40 sensors to monitor the outside world. It also will have it's own software development kit. Pleo will also be the first in a series of life forms. I hope that they next develop a humanoid robot with the same capabilities and price. I think that it would be a awesome robo-one platform.

A US company selling the Robotis Bioloid kit

Garage Technologies in San Jose, CA is selling the Bioloid kit! Looks like the total price is 900.00 dollars. Not sure how effective it would be in a Rob0-One J 6 or Robo-One 9 contests?

There are few if any English websites on Robo-ones

I have been told about another one called Robot Dreams. Check it out. I think the next step is to buy a robo-one kit. I think my programming skill may be a benefit to me. I am also thinking about starting a robo-one club. The problem that I am running into is that no one in the Kansas City area knows what I am talk about in regards to robo-ones.

Pleo, the first true autonomous robot pet?

Is it a robot are a designer life-form? 38 sensors, 14 motors, 8 processors. The processors can handle a collective 60 million calculations per second. You can download software updates over the internet. The price is high around $200.00 but if they can deliver well worth it. Ugobe makes the Pleo. I wonder if this technology could be used in a robo-one.

The future king of the hill in Robo-one kits.

The Bioloid kit could be the next step in the evolution of humanoid robots. It is made by a company in South Korea Robotis. Could be the most upgradeable and adaptable kit around. The only problem is it is not sold in the US. The only company that I know that sells it is a Australia company called Tribotix. The price is $900.00.

Robonova-1

The new king of the hill. The servos make this a winner. Also the ability to hack it means that you can make it even better. The price is about $999.00 for the kit. Target is even selling then on their web site. So the price of the robonova-1 should come down.

KHR-1 kit

The first robo-one kit. The robot is allmost two years old and is showing it's age. The is the most expensive of the kits avaialbe in the US. KHR-1 is about $1445.00.

Robo-ones

The new robotic craze in Japan and Korea. The best english sites that I can find are RoboSavvy, Tribotix, Robo-One Korea, and Robogames. The best robots you can buy in the US seem to be the KHR-1 and the Robonova-1.
